They'll keep her in the hospital until Monday and then put her in the care unit that my Mom hated so much the last time she was there four years ago. The docs don't think Mom can take care of the bleeding well enough on her own at home.

So, Mom is back spending her days in hospital in mid-December again. It's no wonder she won't celebrate Christmas anymore. I may go up there this weekend, but I haven't decided yet.

Got all worried last night when Deb was 30 minutes late coming home. Deb usually lets me know about the slightest deviation from her plans, and we had a date planned. I called her workplace to find out when she'd left and got them worried. Seriously. I was thinking car crash scenarios. Overreact much, Bad?

She got home and Jake and I ran out to her car at the same time. Jake was all, "Hi Honey, how was your day?" and I was all, "Where the hell have you been, woman?!"

She'd decided to do some Christmas shopping.

We had a nice dinner at the Brake Pad discussing potential travel plans. For some reason, she doesn't want to go to the Granite Museum near Athens. Sometimes I just don't understand girls.

Went to a new bank branch where I'm planning to transfer my checking to our joint account. I was standing in line behind a huge guy who was prepared for a New York winter or something. It's about 50 degrees outside. He had on a calf-length leather coat, and a stiff windbreaker coat under that, and a massive rabbit fur hat. The kind with the flaps that wrap all the way around your head. He didn't take it off inside the bank. And he was carrying an umbrella. He asked the lady to do a balance check. He had $10 in the bank. He made a $6 withdrawal. Ooooookay.

I wrapped up my transaction and caught a glance at the next teller over at the same time that she saw me. We both did a big, "whoa, that there's a big ol' dyke" double-take at the same time. I think I'll like banking at this branch.
