The status of my MINI Cooper S has changed from "scheduled for production" to "awaiting transport." Yippee! That means it's probably, barring administrative glitches and storms at sea, only two or three weeks away from being in my hot little hands.

For those who missed out on my car buying experience in MAY�yes, it's been a long seven months�my first new car since college is coming. I don't count the Saturn as mine. It was always Deb's. She drives it 98% of the time. She picked it out. Though I think she picked it out with my sensibilities in mind.

There's even a slim chance it may be here before Thanksgiving. That would be coming back to my hometown in style. I'm already planning on being the envy of everyone at my 20th high school reunion next year. I'm just giddy with joy right now.
