Then we went to Big Lots and I scored (I hope) with a find of these things called bath cloths, which are cloths used to clean old people and invalids, I guess, without needing water. I'm hoping that would work pretty good to freshen up a guy who doesn't exactly have access to regular showers. I bought a shitload of other stuff, too. Deoderant, razors, soap, Old Spice Cool Contact Refreshment Towels (Who knows if they're any good. The box didn't stink, so I got two.), beef jerky and M&Ms (that was a specific request), small notebooks, toothpaste, cinnamon Altoids, Q-tips Treat & Go First Aid Antibiotic Swabs (I thought those sounded pretty useful, too), and possibly some other stuff that I've forgotten about. Then we went over to Blockbuster and hit the Buy Two, Get One Free previously viewed shelves. Deb got "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" for herself, and I got "The Rookie," "The Majestic," "Robin Williams Live on Broadway" and "Eddie Murphy Raw" for the boys. I sincerely don't know if the Robin Williams and Eddie Murphy movies will violate the "obscenity" restrictions. I kind of think that's for porn and not for mostly just foul language and dirty jokes. I bought all those on VHS. I'm hoping the guy who requested movies will be able to use them.

Then Sara brought over a stack of used sci fi books (another specific request) to add to the pile. The living room coffee table is heaped with stuff to send overseas.

This morning I had my first attempt at navigating the mess that is figuring out how to mail the proper sized box to an APO address. The guy I was sending to, Army Guy, has restrictions on the size of the package. On reexamination of the rules, it seems I was a little overly cautious on exactly how small the package needed to be. Anyway, I was trying to send two small priority mail packages to the same guy. The USPS lady said there was no reason to do that and said I'd filled out the wrong form, which was for bigger, heavy boxes. Sigh. She helped me out and we got everything on its way. She assured me that it would reach my soldier. I hope so. Tonight I pack up Air Force Guy's package.
