On the upside: Deb got drugs today! Cross your fingers for peace of mind at the ranch.

The visit home was nice, but the first thing my mom did was grab me by the head (kind of by the ears), shake me, and rag on me for having short hair. I had just had it cut, but I had the cut that's way more conservative (for a girl) than the flattop I usually get.

She's also moving me out of my childhood room, one trunkload at a time. She's going to turn my old bedroom into her travel office where she keeps her mementos and arrangements and gear and stuff, which I think is great. I just hope she doesn't open the shoebox that contains the spermicidal suppositories I bought in high school. Eeeeek.

The good thing about Mom, though. She would never ever ever ever mention it if she did.

I also found out that I wasn't a mistake. I'd always figured I was since my siblings are 7 and 8 years older than me. Turns out I was supposed to be the first of two boys that my dad wanted. Since I turned out to be the statistical nail in the "hope for boys" coffin, they quit trying. All of my dad's male sibs only had female offspring. Three men, twelve daughters.

Gotta get back to work.
