Lost friends 2001-10-31 9:02 a.m. Yesterday was a sort of sobering day. My company "outsourced" the customer service department, and so I lost some friends and colleagues. They were already gone before I knew what had happened. Claudette, Sherry, Emeka, Lisa, and Laree. And, being in customer service, they were some of the nicest, most outgoing women in our office. They weren't doing a bad job, but the company can save money and get more services from some customer service company in Maryland that does nothing but customer service. I'm going to miss those girls. Naturally, I also felt some guilty relief that it's not my department that got outsourced. They've mentioned it as a possibility.

Watched Buffy last night with Deb, Jake, and Lucy. (Ricky was down in the lower end of the state for the night.) Deb made stir-fry and invented a pumpkin cookie recipe for Cin (see Comfort Food's guest book. She's posted that recipe now. Those puppies were goooood. But you could eat two dozen before you know it.
